2024 Max Thabiso Edkins Climate Ambassador

Einass Bakhiet is a Sudanese-British environmentalist and 2024 Churchill Fellow, recognised for her work in promoting the engagement and inclusion of people of colour within the UK’s environmental sector. She is the co-founder of the Sudan Climate Collective, working to build a climate-resilient Sudan by empowering local communities and the diaspora and driving sustainable development amid the ongoing conflict. Einass has also been named a 2024 Max Thabiso Edkins Climate Ambassador by the World Bank for her leadership in climate action.

A prominent environmental advocate, Einass has spoken at notable events including Billie Eilish’s Overheated Climate Conference, London Climate Week, and the Black Ecofeminist Summit, as featured in British Vogue. Her professional background is in the insurance industry, where she focused on sustainability risks and product innovation. She holds an MSc in Environmental Governance from the University of Oxford, where she was an Economic and Social Research Council Scholar.
