Jo is head of B2B communications at Google where she covers ads, privacy, partnerships and anything that contributes to the economic recovery of businesses post-COVID. She is a PRWeek 2021 Powerbook-ee and 30under30 alumni. She previously led TMT, Transport, and Sports PR at the professional services firm, KPMG, and worked at the governing body, City of London Corporation’s press office, as well as at some of the UK’s leading PR agencies.
She has long advocated for better representation in the industry; having supported Edelman’s diversity initiative in its infancy, chaired the City’s BAME and Women’s staff networks, a committee member of KPMG’s African-Caribbean Network committee, and last year setting up the UK Black Comms Network, while mentoring in her spare time. She currently holds a board member position on the PRCA’s Race and Ethnicity Equity Board and is a Trustee of the Taylor Bennett Foundation. Jo spends most of her spare time and pennies travelling (pre-COVID), overeating cake, and then committing to various fitness fads.
