Before joining Blurred, Phillipa worked in the Corporate Communications team at Discovery Inc, driving trade and business media engagement, increasing visibility for the exec team through media and speaking engagements and planning Discovery’s involvement in global events. Phillipa has also spent time agency side at Four communications where she worked across a number of financial services clients. Prior to this Phillipa worked within Vodafone Group within the Digital Editorial team on pro-active global campaigns.

Favourite campaign of 2021 and why?

This isn’t strictly a campaign but Naomi Osaka’s decision to withdraw from the French Open helped raise awareness of mental health issues in the sports world. Her actions sparked a very much-needed conversation around mental health and forced the industry to take a hard look at the media engagement and experiences of professional athletes.

Who is your communicator of the year?

Oprah Winfrey. The way she navigated royal revelations from Harry and Meghan was jaw dropping!
