She is passionate about levelling up the playing field in the comms industry
Valerie joined Hope&Glory in 2012 where she is currently a director and works on clients such as IKEA, TaskRabbit, Virgin Media O2, and American Airlines.
Prior to this she spent several years working on a wide range of sectors including retail, consumer tech, and food & drink from both a consumer and corporate perspective.
Over the years she has worked closely with her clients on a whole multitude of purpose-led initiatives, most recently highlighting IKEA’s fair and equal values with campaigns targeting the LGBTQ+ community and working alongside Barnardo’s to support their work with young care leavers.
She is passionate about levelling up the playing field in the comms industry and is one of the co-leads of the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion working group at H&G.
Favourite campaign of 2021 and why?
This year, the #longlivetheprince campaign really stood out. Creating a hopeful and positive story around a grim issue such as knife crime was both ingenious and inspirational. It’s getting a lot of love at awards shows and rightly so.
Who is your communicator of the year?
Emma Radacanu. Or whoever looks after Doncaster Council’s Twitter handle.
Person of the year?
My husband for putting up with me.
